Kid-ism? What is a Kid-ism? I look at it as the infinite wisdoms that kids impart upon us everyday that cause a giggle, a chuckle and an out and out laugh. You have experienced them, repeated them and remembered them when you needed a little pick me up. In the immortal words of the late great Art Linkletter,"Kids say the darndest things!"

Moms or mom moms; Dads or pop pops are loaded down with them: potty stories, telephone conversations, Sponge Bob quips...whatever they are we keep them close to our heart. They warm us and make us smile. That is what this blog is all about. I wanted to share some of my stories with you; share a piece of my sunshine and love with you. And I hope you, too, will feel free to share yours with me.

Let's get started sharing!!!

Love this time of year

Anyone that works with kids will tell you that the Autumn is one of the fun times of the year.  The air cools off so that you can take them out to play and the trees become a great source for learning.  From collecting colorful leaves to hunting pumpkins it becomes a fun time for all.

One year I had the Kindergartens in an after school program.  They were a great group of kids.  My kids were so much fun.  We decided to take them outside to run around one day and somehow it all became a nature walk along the forest that backs up to the school.  I explained how the trees all change colors when the weather turns cold.  Pointed out the oranges, yellows and reds of the leaves.  Somewhere along the way I decided that we would make a autumn leaf collage when we went inside.  I told my kids what I wanted to make and that they should go out and find some really pretty leaves to put on their collage.  They excitedly hit the trees collecting leaves.  After about 10 minutes I called them all back and we headed inside to our work table.  Armed with paste and paper we all sat down to make our collages.  First I made one up real quick so they could see what it could look like.  They were all excited to get their hands into the paste and get started.  It was right about then that I realized that they had all pretty much picked up all brown leaves. . . I do not know why I expected anything different when my son's favorite color at this age was black.  Well they all had a good time making their Brown autumn collages.
