Kid-ism? What is a Kid-ism? I look at it as the infinite wisdoms that kids impart upon us everyday that cause a giggle, a chuckle and an out and out laugh. You have experienced them, repeated them and remembered them when you needed a little pick me up. In the immortal words of the late great Art Linkletter,"Kids say the darndest things!"

Moms or mom moms; Dads or pop pops are loaded down with them: potty stories, telephone conversations, Sponge Bob quips...whatever they are we keep them close to our heart. They warm us and make us smile. That is what this blog is all about. I wanted to share some of my stories with you; share a piece of my sunshine and love with you. And I hope you, too, will feel free to share yours with me.

Let's get started sharing!!!

The Kindergarten Player

I have worked with kids for years:  babysitting at 14, tutoring, substitute teaching and after school provider.  Over the years I have heard some great stories.  My favorite is about one of my favorite kids.  He was a sweet little boy who lived with his Aunt and siblings.  What a little lover he was!  One of the youngest, at 5, players I ever met.  This little boy could charm the spots off of a leopard.  Melt your heart and common sense with a smile.  And those sad eyes, ll you had to do was look at him and you were sure he just needed ALL of your love.

One day my partner and I took the kids outside to play with the bag of toys I kept in my trunk:  bubbles, badminton, wiffle ball and the such.  We threw blankets on the ground with books and games for the kids that did not want to play; a nice leisurely afternoon in the Sun and shade.  My partner and I sat on the curb, between the kids playing and the kids lounging on the blankets.  My little player comes over and hugs me and starts talking to me and my partner.  (also a great talker) My foot was aching me that day so I had slipped off my shoe for a bit.  The next thing I know the boy is massaging my foot and doing a really good job of it, too.  My partner laughed and said,"Hey, how about me?"  The little player moves from my foot to her shoulders.  I chuckled along with my partner.  Before I know it he is massaging both of our necks and says,"Can life be any better than this?!"  My partner and I fell out laughing.  What a little player!
